MY FIRST OLYMPIC DISTANCE TRIATHLON IS JULY 9, 2017. THIS IS WEEK 9 OF MY TRAINING REBOOT.

Last week

  • I completed all my planned training sessions, except my runs.
  • As it relates to running, my left knee was feeling wonky the week before last. I decided to skip running – to let my left knee rest. (I hurt my left knee (in March).)
  • As it relates to swimming, I continue to focus on breathing. I still don’t properly incorporate breathing into my stroke. I’ll keep practicing.

This week

Sun  15 miles Deadlift 245# x 5 reps for two sets

(Completed planned sets)

Standing overhead dumbbell press 70# x 15 reps for two sets

(Did not complete sets, so same weight next time)

Mon   1o00 meters 15 miles  4 miles

(Ran full distance)

(Ran one lap/ walked one lap)
